We all go through rough patches. When things go wrong or things don’t work out, I never dismiss it. I never think, “Okay, in three minutes, I’m going to fix this and it will be perfect.” No, instead, I use the law of attraction to stay positive.
When you’re down and everything feels like it’s falling apart – your business is failing, your marriage feels like it’s on its last leg – whatever’s happening… it’s easy to feel defeated. Trust me, I know what that feels like. I’ve been there twice in my life.
I know what it feels like when you feel like there’s nothing left and it seems like there’s no way to get through it.
I remember those – my worst moments and my darkest thoughts – to this day.
But you know what?
All those thoughts did was make me feel pathetic. They didn’t help. They didn’t comfort me. They didn’t fix anything.
Those thoughts crippled me. They kept me negative when what I needed more than anything was to stay positive.
When I finally changed my perspective to “This is what I’ve learned,” I finally started to shift. I grew. And that’s where I am now.
But how did I get here?
I’ve already told you I’m not perfect. I screwed up. But I got this mantra that I used to repeat to myself – I got it from Tony Robbins maybe 15 years ago now:
“If I can get through this, I can get through anything. If I can get through this, I can get through anything.”
I would literally say this over and over everywhere I went. At the gym, where I started working out… changing my life… I would repeat…
“If I can get through this, I can get through anything.”
And this positive thinking started influencing my other thoughts. It started influencing my life. By thinking positively, by having a positive attitude, I attracted positive thoughts and things and people: That’s called the law of attraction.
Instead of “what could go wrong” I started thinking “what could go right”… and that was a new beginning for me.
